Our mission

Only a small fraction of the world's published books are ever made available in accessible formats. We believe reading should not depend on sight, and that technology can close the gap.

What we do

We develop and support accessible reading technology and partner with libraries and organisations serving readers with disabilities.

Accessible content

Helping organisations build, share, and manage libraries of audio and DAISY books so readers can find what they need.

Voice-first reading

Supporting simple, voice-driven ways to play and navigate books on smart speakers, phones, and computers.

Global partnerships

Working with blindness organisations and libraries around the world to reduce duplicated effort and widen access.

About Sonnar Foundation

Sonnar Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving access to reading for people who are blind, have low vision, or live with other print disabilities. Our work grew out of the Sonnar accessible library platform and is guided by a simple idea: everyone deserves the same access to books and knowledge.

We collaborate with libraries, disability organisations, and technology partners to make accessible reading easier, faster, and available on the devices people already use.
